Product Description
Kathryn M. Ireland is a maven of materials. In addition to having her own fabric line, she freely and deftly mixes other designers’ fabrics as well as international market “finds.” Blending those with quality ironwork, wood, tile, and furniture pieces, Ireland pulls together a magnificent home of unpretentious grandeur.

Kathryn Irelands latest book is her best yet. the photographs are rich, lush and deep; much better than last time.
the story, yes it tells a story of reclaiming and transforming a classic home that had fallen into disrepair and the process of turning into a gem is both educational and inspiring.
if you cant have the house; get the book

I was disappointed with this book even though I am a fan of Kathryn Ireland’s decorating and her fabrics. It just felt like I had seen a lot of it before and for me it didn’t add any useful glimpses of some ideas I could use. I must say the cover is wonderful. It was almost worth it to keep this book just for the cover….but not quite.
I have a lot of books on decorating and I own her previous book. I put post-it tabs through out that book. So I was so ready for this book to be terrific. Sigh.

If you are an admirer of early American architecture, you’ll enjoy following Kathryn’s impressive restoration of this Ojai estate, bringing back to life the romantic Spanish Colonial spirit while adding spice notes of color from the landscapes of North Africa to the Central American jungles. An enormous undertaking with a breathtaking result, check this book out and become inspired to turn glum to glamerous!

I have her previous book and was waiting for this one to come out, with excitement I might add. Well, save your money and if you really want to look at the book, go to the library or the bookstore. It’s a rehash of her work and previously printed material, as well as photo shoots that were done by one of the fashion magazines. Pure self-promotion. These days I want more for my money. I actually returned this book after looking at it…that’s how disappointed I was in the book.
